Buk bilong Pikinini is currently working on the first library to be established for BSP in Lae, Morobe Province. The remaining six libraries will be placed in Goroka, Kokopo, Madang. Port Moresby, Wewak and Manus.
This is what Ian Clyne, General Manager of BSP, had to say about the partnership with BbP:
"We are previleged to be supporting Buk Bilong Pikinini and the wonderful work they do in empowering and educating children who are the future of this nation. By working and supporting each local community, and organisations such as Buk Bilong Pikinini we also encourage active participation and social responsibility, so children and young people grow up to become responsible adults.
BSP is committed to supporting quality grassroots initiatives with sustainable outcomes and does so through supporting partnerships with community organisations and charities in four core areas: Heath & Wellbeing, Sustainability and Environment, Rural and Regional Communities as well as Education and Employment."
Buk bilong Pikinini is quite certain that the children coming to these libraries in the future will be working extra hard on their numeracy skills ...
