The official opening for the library near the Makana/Morobe 9 Mile Community settlement was popular with the community when ribbons were officially cut on the 17th of July 2013. The event was a great celebration and was attended by Mr. Mara Wape - Superintendent for Elementary Teacher Training from the Department of Education, Curt von Boguslawski (pictured above left) - World Vision PNG Country Director, Simon Cholai - Vision 2050 Office Director and team, BbP staff including Mary Amua, Jules Taria, Elizabeth Omeri and Luke Ebbs (pictured below left) who manage this project, BbP board member Hellen White (pictures below right), donors, former Australian High Commissioner to PNG Chris Moraitis, media and 300 members from the community.

The children have been enjoying the library for a few weeks now and are greatly enjoying their time in the library. They came dressed in their best and gave a nice performance for the invited guests.
