At the invitation of Mrs. Kathrine Lepani, wife of the Papua New Guinea High Commissioner H.E. Charles Lepani, around 30 Heads of Mission spouses attended a morning tea and a screening of the new BbP documentary Literacy: the Buk bilong Pikinini Way by Tania Nugent.

Mrs. Lepani (pictured below right middle) introduced the group of spouses to Elizabeth Omeri, Luke Ebbs (pictured above left) - from BbP's Head Office - and Anne-Sophie, who did a short presentation about BbP's work.

The occasion was also used to present a gift of a framed picture of H.E. Marcel Stutz Ambassador of Switzerland to Australia (pictured below left and right) to Mrs. Esther Stutz to express our gratitude to the Swiss Embassy in Canberra for their support for Buk bilong Pikinini. The Swiss Embassy has donated $50,000 to Buk bilong Pikinini which has paid for a library building on Tatana Island in Port Moresby. H.E. Marcel Stutz visited the new library in September in Papua New Guinea and also took the time to read with the children.

Buk bilong Pikinini wishes to thank Mrs. Lepani for her great support and the opportunity to present our work to the Canberra diplomatic community.
