On the 18th of December 2014, Australia's Foreign Minister - Hon. Julie Bishop - visited Buk bilong Pikinini's second library in Goroka to launch books.

The books entitled "Maria's family saves their Kina" and "Maria's family goes to Market written in both Tok Pisin and English and have been written to help improve women's basic literacy. More than 4400 of these books will be donated to schools and community groups through the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research ACIAR.

It was also an opportunity for the Minister to see the children in action and meet Buk bilong Pikinini staff and children. Isabel Michell, the niece of Hon. Julie Bishop has been volunteering for BbP at the Goroka library and was delighted to introduce everyone to the minister.

The Australian Foreign Minister was accompanied by a large delegation of Australian Parliamentarians, the Australian High Commissioner and Governor Soso of Goroka.
