Financial donations and powdered milk continue to trickle in from generous donors. We would like to thank Vanessa Sutch, a Social Worker in Darwin, for co-ordinating fundraising activities that resulted in a generous financial donation towards purchasing much needed milk and food supplies.
The Defence Social Club in Port Moresby were very kind and raised money through a raffle for Kaikai bilong Pikinini—thank you for your support. Thank you to Nerida Bells who co-ordinated an appeal through the Dieticians Association of Australia resulting in a potential partnership between the Albion Street Centre (ASC) through their Dietician, Megan Gayford. We have been humbled by the interest and support from the ASC which resulted in a meeting between ASC, Kaikai bilong Pikinini and Port Moresby General Hospital staff held to discuss possible ideas for a partnership focusing on nutritional health. ![]() Additionally the ASC, co-ordinated by Dietitian Meagan Gayford, and the HIV/AIDS and Related Programs (HARP) unit donated a very generous financial donation to help support the needs of the children in the HIV/AIDS ward at the Port Moresby General Hospital. These funds were raised from the Worlds Aids Day (WAD) fundraising activities that were co-ordinated by ASC and HARP. Thank you for your generous donation — your assistance is greatly appreciated. The nutritional education component of Kaikai bilong Pikinini continues to be run through the Buk bilong Pikinini library at the Port Moresby General Hospital. This is proving to be very successful with the children now receiving fresh fruit and vegetables on a regular basis. Powdered milk is delivered upon request.
