On the move

Where does petrol come from? Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) had a visit from Kongel Pombreol, Local Business Development Coordinator at Puma Energy to the organisation’s Library Learning Centre at Hagara Primary School.

To celebrate Book Week, Mr Pombreol read a book to the children about cars, petrol and how it is used. The children enjoyed the reading and having the opportunity to learn from professionals.

Ms Dorothy Koch, BbP Marketing Manager also presented Mr Pombreol with our quarterly report and thanked Puma Energy for their support for Buk bilong Pikinini.

Puma Energy generously provides fuel to support BbP’s vehicles to carry out transportation of books, children and staff members every day.

Puma Energy Country GM Hulala Tokome said: “We continue to energise communities through our Community Social Responsibility. In partnering with Bbp, we supply fuel and lubricants so that BbP can distribute books to children's libraries established around the country.

It was an exciting day, celebrating the National Book Week with five-year-old children attending Hagara Primary School Library Learning Centre on August 10th and witnessing the launch of a 13 reader series: ‘When I Grow Up’ focused on motivating children in their Early Childhood Education program.

“Early Childhood Learning is very important to prepare children at a tender age in developing their reading and writing skills. Children deserve the right in learning to read and write,” Puma Energy Country GM Hulala Tokome said.

The library at Hagara Primary school is sponsored by the Sir Brian Bell Foundation.
