Buk bilong Pikinini Celebrates Opening of Newly Renovated Library Learning Centre at Port Moresby General Hospital’s Children’s Malnutrition, TB & HIV Ward, 3C
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – March 7, 2025 – Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) is proud to announce the reopening of its newly renovated Library Learning Centre (LLC) at the Port Moresby General Hospital’s Children’s Malnutrition Ward 3C. The library learning corner at the Port Moresby General Hospital was originally opened on April 08th 2007. The reopening, that has taken place today Friday, March 7, 2025, marks an exciting milestone for the organization as it unveils a newly renovated and expanded learning space for children receiving treatment at the hospital.

The anticipated opening of Buk bilong Pikinini's (BbP) St. Steven Library Learning Centre (LLC) at 3 Mile in Lae today (04th March 2025) was a momentous occasion that brought together students, parents, teachers, from both BbP and St Steven Elementary School and members of the 3 Mile community for a joyous celebration.
Teacher training in Nutrition Education
All Buk bilong Pikinini’s (BbP) 50 teachers, who deliver the organisation’s Early Childhood Education program have today received further training in the Nutrition Education program, which will be delivered at all Library Learning Centres this year. Comprehensive Nutrition Education for teachers, parents and children is greatly needed in Papua New Guinea to improve education and health outcomes.

CPL Foundation Renews Support to Buk bilong Pikinini’s Tatana Library Learning Centre with a Donation of K103,810.53.
City Pharmacy Limited Foundation (CPLF) has proudly renewed its support to Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP), a local non-governmental organization, with a K103,810.53 donation to continue funding the Tatana Library Learning Centre (LLC) for another three years. Sir Mahesh Patel and CPLF have supported BbP since 2014.
Moni Plus Supports Buk bilong Pikinini to Donate K4000 Worth of Books to Carr Memorial Adventist School
Port Moresby, February 7, 2025 – Moni Plus, in collaboration with Buk bilong Pikinini, has made a generous donation to Carr Memorial Adventist School in Port Moresby today, as part of their ongoing efforts to support education in Papua New Guinea. A total of K4000 has been donated to supply the school with an Elementary Kit 3 and a Primary Kit 2, comprising 750 books in total.

The Rainbow Kitchen and Restaurant, Stationery shop, Craft shop and supermarket were open for business at BbP’s children’s Literacy Week Market Day.
Students dressed in aprons and chefs’ hats, cleaned beautiful produce from 9 Mile Farm, with the assistance of David Mead, to get the vegetables ready to be peeled and chopped in the Rainbow Kitchen. Mini professional chefs learnt to prepare healthy foods and snacks with Chef Julz of Trukai and get them ready to be served in lunchboxes by Exxonmobil PNG volunteers at the Rainbow Restaurant.
