Rotary Club of Port Moresby donates K20,000 to Buk bilong Pikinini

Port Moresby Rotary Club President, Robert Aisi has always said “Readers are leaders” and reiterated “the importance of Early Childhood Education to improve education outcomes for PNG school children” as he presented the cheque of K20,000 to Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP).

Thanks to sponsorship from Ela Motors, Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) was able to invite teams to compete in a fun-filled Christmas Charity Golf Tournament on Friday the 1st of December to raise funds for the organisation’s Early Childhood Education program. It was a great occasion for the Port Moresby Rotary Club president, Robert Aisi, who is himself also an avid golf-player, to present BbP Founder and Chairperson Anne-Sophie Hermann and Executive Officer Leanne Resson with the cheque.

The donated funds will be used to support Port Moresby Schools with BbP’s popular School Library Kits, to be donated alongside school desks and chairs supplied by the Rotary Club.

Leanne Resson, BbP Executive Officer said: “We are grateful to be working with like-minded organisations such as the Rotary Club of Port Moresby to provide students with high quality books for their education. Our books are a great compliment to the desks and chairs distributed by Rotary and will be a lovely gift to any classroom.”
