BbP Library Opens in Pimaga

More than 2000 people gathered in the remote Pimaga, in Kutubu to witness the opening of a Literacy Library for the children. Such a facility is greatly celebrated by the community and is part of an on-going partnership with Santos through the Santos Foundation (fmr. Oil Search Foundation) to support the children in Hela, Gulf and Southern Higlands Provinces with high quality education opportunities and books. In addition to the library establishment, Buk bilong Pikinini supports the project with books, literacy and numeracy teaching tools as well as with on-going monitoring and training for the teachers. We are grateful for the long-term partnership and are currently planning more libraries for the region.
