CPL Foundation continues support of Buk bilong Pikinini

Children enrolled at Tatana Island and BbP have today celebrated our 11-years partnership and the signing of a new 5-year MoU between Sir Mahesh Patel/the CPL Foundation and BbP.
The MoU signing took place at CPL’s Head Office and was signed by Sir Mahesh Patel, BbP’s Executive Officer Leanne Resson and BbP’s Founder and Chairperson Anne-Sophie Hermann.
The children dressed up as Pharmacists and Nurses and administered “pretend medication” in the form of jelly beans to their “patients”.

In addition to the annual sponsorship funding for the operational costs of the LLC, which represents an investment by Sir Mahesh Patel and the CPL Foundation of more than K700,000 over the 11-year period, the children and families have also benefitted from the CPL nurse’s community health education program and guidance.

Both Buk bilong Pikinini’s Executive Officer Leanne Resson and the organisation’s Chair and Founder Anne-Sophie Hermann, joined in thanking Sir Mahesh and the CPL Foundation team for this most generous commitment to education for PNG’s children and for the long-term support, which will now continue to transform the opportunities and improved academic outcomes for children living on Tatana Island.
Sir Mahesh Patel said: “CPL Foundation is pleased to extend and continue our longstanding partnership for a further five years with Buk Bilong Pikinini and the Tatana Community Learning Centre.”

“The work that BbP does is fantastic, and aligns with the CPL Foundation’s mission to empower women, girls and youths through access to education and literacy programs, improved health-care services and economic empowerment opportunities. And to start it off with children is the best way to go”, Sir Mahesh further stated.
