Ela Motors Donates Bus and Golf Tournament sponsorship to Buk bilong Pikinini
Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) will celebrate the generous donation of a 15-seater bus with Ela Motors on the 23rd of November. Children from BbP’s Koki Markets Library Learning Centre will be in attendance to sing and test out the new bus.
BbP is grateful for the donation as it will allow the organisation to better service its 12 LLCs in Port Moresby and provide the students with the opportunity to go on educational excursions.
Field trips are an important part of children’s education as they are a great way to reinforce what they have learned in the classroom as part of BbP’s Early Childhood Education program. Being able to experience what they have learned firsthand will solidify their understanding and give them their own perspective as they explore new environments.
BbP organizes many field trips for the children to broaden their horizons and provide them with valuable learning opportunities such as visiting the Port Moresby Nature Park, Hastings Deering to view mining machines, Ilimo Dairy to see cows and dairy, the National Museum and Art Gallery for cultural learning with much more to come.
Ela Motors is a long-term donor of BbP, having donated two busses in the past. In addition to the bus donation, Ela Motors has also made BbP the recipient of their Charity Golf Day, which will be celebrated with a Christmas Charity Golf Tournament on the 1st of December, 2023.
BbP Executive Officer, Leanne Resson said: “Being able to provide students with the opportunity to go on field trips to visit the Nature Park, National Museum as well as learning about different professions through visits to BbP’s donor partners is greatly appreciated. It makes for a more holistic and educational Early Childhood program.
We are also very excited about the donation of the Charity Golf day and are looking forward to a fun day out on the green with our participants all the while raising some much-needed funds which will allow us to welcome more children to our program in 2024. We could not be more grateful.”
