Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) has spent the last 3 weeks enrolling thousands of children into the organisation’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) and After School programs. The students will attend an action-packed one-year program providing them with solid foundations for school and for the future.

Christmas Golf Tournament raises funds for Buk bilong Pikinini
Thanks to sponsorship from Ela Motors, Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) was able to invite teams to compete in a fun-filled Christmas Charity Golf Tournament on Friday the 1st of December to raise funds for the organisation’s Early Childhood Education program.
Ela Motors Donates Bus and Golf Tournament sponsorship to Buk bilong Pikinini
Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) will celebrate the generous donation of a 15-seater bus with Ela Motors on the 23rd of November. Children from BbP’s Koki Markets Library Learning Centre will be in attendance to sing and test out the new bus.
BbP is grateful for the donation as it will allow the organisation to better service its 12 LLCs in Port Moresby and provide the students with the opportunity to go on educational excursions.
Deloitte volunteers join Buk bilong Pikinini children for the celebration of Universal Children’s Day
Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) has today celebrated Universal Children’s Day in all its Library Learning Centres across Papua New Guinea to teach the children about their rights.
Universal Children’s Day is celebrated around the world on 20th November every year. Its goal is to improve child welfare worldwide, promote and celebrate children’s rights and promote togetherness and awareness amongst all children.
The Buk bilong Pikinini Association elects 5 new Directors
Buk bilong Pikinini held its Annual General Meeting for 2023 with members of the association at APEC Haus and via zoom. The members consist of corporate partners, organisations and fellow NGOs.
Education stall and learning about future PNG jobs
Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) was invited to set up a stall at the Theodist Education Pavillion at the Morobe Show on the 4th of November, 2023.
The BbP stall had an information booth to provide parents with information about the organisations’ free Early Childhood Education program, enrolment dates for 2024 as well as the great impact the BbP program has on the children’s English literacy skills, numeracy skills and general awareness.

35 children from Buk bilong Pikinini’s (BbP) Library Learning Centre (LLC) located at Evedahana Primary school will visit Ilimo Dairy Farm to learn where fresh milk comes from. This exciting field trip comes after Ilimo Dairy’s Education team visited the LLC to teach the children about the benefits of fresh milk.

17 lucky children, enrolled at Buk bilong Pikinini’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program, made a field trip to Hastings Deering to inspect heavy vehicles used for construction and mining across PNG.
Health and Education go hand in hand - PROMOTING THE IMPORTANCE OF HAND HYGIENE
Children enrolled at BbP’s Library Learning Centres across PNG will be celebrating Global Hand washing Day on Monday the 16th to learn about personal hygiene practices through play and song. Children around the world are being taught to sing a popular song – such as Happy Birthday – twice, to make sure they wash their hands long enough to remove germs.
International Day of the Girl Child - Improving Literacy across the nation for both girls and boys

The Children welcomed PNG Air Chief Commercial Officer, Simon Pitt, and Marketing and Media Coordinator, Dalai Thomas with flying paper planes to the organization’s 6 Mile Library Learning Centre.

Literacy Week 2023 - Children’s Market Day for Financial Literacy
Today, the first Market Day was held at BbP’s 9 Mile Monier/Hebou LLC located next to Rouna Quarry. The Market Day activity has been supported with fresh food, packaged foods and drinks generously donated by: Ilimo Dairy Farm, 9 Mile Farm, Trukai, Supreme Industries, CPL, Oceania Beverage, SVS Mart 2 Mile, BNG Trading, Airways Hotel, Pacific Industries and Sanitarium. SVS Mart also organised for their mascot cow to visit – much to the delight of the children.

To launch a new book entitled ‘When I Grow Up, I want to be a Lawyer’, 10 Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) children from the organisation’s Library Learning Centre at Vabukori went on a field trip to visit the office of Denton’s Lawyers.

To launch a new book entitled ‘When I Grow Up, I want to be Rugby Player’ 10 Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) children went on a field trip to visit the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium to meet with SP Hunters Players and learn what is required for the profession.
